What my favorite characters were doing when they were my age – part 6, age 18

I’m on fall break, which means midterms are over, I have the second half of this week off of school, and I’m in New York for a few days! Today I went to the New York Public Library and saw a really cool New Yorker exhibit they have up (pictures below), and walked around a ton with some friends, which was a lot of fun.

Anyways, it’s October 16th, which means it’s my last day of being 18, and time for my favorite pre-birthday tradition: looking at what all my favorite fictional characters were up to when they were my age. It’s crazy that I’ve been doing this for six years, and though a lot of the characters have stayed the same from list to list, I am starting to age out of the YA age-range, and I’m going to have to get a little more creative with character lists.

Well it’s getting late, and it’s almost the 17th, so without further ado, here’s what some of my favorite characters were doing when they were 18!

It’s October 16th, which means it’s my last day of being 17! It also means that it’s time for one of my favorite annual posts, which I’ve been doing for the last five years.

I can’t believe that I’ve been doing these posts for so long, and it’s always so much fun to look at what some of my favorite fictional characters did when they were my age. There are a lot of 17-year-old characters that I’m excited to talk about for this year’s post, so here they are!

What my favorite characters were doing when they were my age – part 4, age 16

It’s October 16th, which means it’s my last day of being 16 years old, and instead of reflecting on what I’ve done this past year, it’s the perfect time to look at the accomplishments of all my favorite characters from when they were my age.

This is my fourth year doing this post, and it’s always one of my favorites! This year especially there were so many characters to put in here–16 really is a popular age for YA protagonists! So, let’s see what some of my favorite fictional characters were doing when they were my age.

Let’s Talk Bookish: What makes you like a character?

Hello, and happy Friday! Today was my school’s homecoming, which was pretty fun. Because of covid, we couldn’t have a dance so instead it was a carnival. I volunteered for a little bit at the Amnesty International club’s booth, and I had fun with that. I met up with a friend, and we wandered for a little bit. Anyways, I’m excited to get into this week’s LTB topic, which will be me talking all about book characters and what makes me like them!

Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly discussion post created by Rukky @ Eternity Books and is hosted by Rukky and Dani @ A Literary Lion! This week’s topic is What makes you like characters?

What some my favorite characters were doing when they were my age – part 2, age 14

Hello! Today was a pretty busy Thursday, but I have a four day weekend coming up: an exciting one, because my birthday’s on Sunday! I did a post like this last year, but it was all about 13 year old characters. I’ve been so excited for this one for so long, and it was so much fun to put together.

I’m in a weird in between age right now: Most young adult protagonists are 15-18, and middle grade characters are usually 12 and under. But I managed to scrape up a pretty good list of characters, and I hope you have fun reading about what they were all up to when they were my age, fourteen years old!
