Review Policy

Hello there, and thanks for coming to my blog! I am open to review requests, but before you reach out, please read through the rest of this page so that we can both make the most of our time.

On different genres:

I primarily read and review middle grade and young adult, however I will consider different age categories.

Genres that I accept:

• historical fiction
• contemporary
• fantasy
• mystery
• science fiction

I will consider other genres however I am less likely to be as interested.

What I would like you to include in your request:

Title and author. This is pretty straightforward, I just need the full title of the book and the author’s name.

The synopsis of the book. This is important so I know what the book is about, and so I can see if it looks like something I would like.

Publication date. If your requesting my review of an advance copy, then it is important for me to be able to see when it will be published so I can post my review as close to the publication date as possible.

Format in which I will receive the book. I will read all formats: physical books, ebooks, and audiobooks, but I do need to know what format I will be receiving the book in, and how.

When you would like the review by. I will do my best to read and review the book as soon as I can, but if you do have a specific time frame, please let me know.

I don’t need this, but I would appreciate any content warnings for the book, genres and age groups (middle grade or young adult).

One more thing that isn’t necessary but is appreciated is a link to the book’s Goodreads and/or Amazon, and to the author or publishers website. This way, I can learn as much about the book as possible/

If you send me a book, I will do my best to read it as soon as I can, and will post my review either as close as possible to the release date, or by a date you give me. Do keep in mind that blogging is a hobby, and I don’t have unlimited time, so it may take me some time to get to a book and to write a book. I will let you know if I’m going to take much longer than expected to read a book, but I will aim for within 6 weeks.

If you send me a book, I will do my best to read it as soon as I can. If it is an advance copy, I will post my review close to the release date, unless you say otherwise. If not, I will do my best to read and review the book within six weeks. Do keep in mind that blogging is a hobby, and I don’t have unlimited time for writing, so it may take me longer than expected to read and review a book. If that happens, I will email you and let you know if I’m going to take much longer.

It is possible that I may not like a book, and will not finish it. In that case, I will send an email letting you know about that, and will not post a review or rating. However, I may talk about it on my blog and other places such as my Goodreads.

It is also possible that I would read a book, but not like it. I will write a review, but it will be my honest opinion, and I will talk about the things I liked and disliked. I will be as constructive as I can with my critisism.

I post my reviews here on my blog, and Goodreads. I can also spotlight the book on Instagram, so let me know if you would like that.
