The Lighting Thief: book, movie and musical | ft. some reasons on why I love the book, why I despise the movie, and why the musical is pretty amazing

Two months ago Kay @ Hammock of Books did a post with her thoughts on the Percy Jackson movie. It was so hilarious, and brought back memories of the first time I watched the movie. I didn’t watch it when it first came out, since I was four, but I did watch it a few years ago, when I was eleven or twelve, I think.

So, I thought, why not do a similar thing? So I did, even if it took me a really long time. I watched the movie and wrote down my thoughts on it as I was watching it. That’s what I have below.

Since I don’t want it to be a completely negative post, I’m also going to include a few reasons why I like the Lightning Thief musical, which I was also able to see, and some of my favorite parts from the book itself.

The thing is, The Lightning Thief started as a book, and now it’s more than that. Not that it’s become a musical, movie, and is soon to be a show, but now, it’s a universe. Everything that Rick Riordan has written is so much more than a few stories, and it all started with this one book.

So, I’m going to be going through the different ways that the original book has been told, and share my thoughts!

100 followers q & a | and maybe some other questions from a q & a I should have done a few months ago

Hello! Today I finally bring to you my answers to the questions that a few of you asked me about a month ago. And also the answers to the questions I got five months ago that I never answered. Sorry guys!

This has been a lot of fun to do, but I think that in the future I might structure it differently, because I sort of just threw my plea for questions randomly at the bottom of one of my posts. Next time, I’ll do it differently!

Anyway, I’ve answered all of the questions I got below, and it was really fun!

I kind of completely waited until the last minute to finish this, but I did it!!

My wonderful readers, it’s here, and I am incredibly happy to share with you today my nominations for the 2020 book blogger awards!

This is the fourth annual book bloggers awards, and this year it is being hosted by May @ Forever and Everly and Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books! I really appreciate them organizing this because I think the awards are a wonderful way to discover new blogs and to support our fellow book bloggers!

Also, there are so many amazing bloggers out there, and I couldn’t put all of you into this post!! If I didn’t put your blog here, it doesn’t mean that I don’t love it! I don’t want to make anyone feel bad, that is the opposite of what this is for.

Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag | ft. How on earth are we already halfway through this crazy year?

Hello! I guess it’s time for me to do this tag? I was going to do it on June first, but then I forgot about it and was busy and here we are 20-something days later and I’m finally doing it. I was tagged for this by two wonderful bloggers: Kay @ Hammock of Books and Jane @ Blogger Books! Both of their blogs are wonderful and you should go over right now because both of them have wonderful bookish content!

Also, as Kay put it, this tag is like one giant game of telephone and it honestly is. Kay and Jane both did slightly different versions, but overall it’s the same. So, I answered 15 questions about books and stuff, so here they are!

Before I get into the questions though, here’s an update on my Goodreads challenge:

I am 18 books ahead, which I’m really happy about!! I guess that’s what months and months of social distancing gets you.

Rereading The Heroes of Olympus series in a week | ft. 50 bullet points and more than 100 quotes

Hello! Last week, this week, the past seven days (whatever you want to call it) I reread the Heroes of Olympus series. It was a good thing that I did that, because I honestly forgot most of the stuff that happened (oops). I did, however, take a few pictures of some quotes and funny moments that I liked, so here they are:

Also, I did a similar post for the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series which you can read right here!

Rereading all of the Percy Jackson books in a day | no I’m not crazy, I just love books

Hello everyone! I’ve been reading quite a bit in the last week, and I was even planning on doing attempting a 24 hour readathon on Tuesday. However, I woke up late, and was really tired, so I went back to sleep and ended up sleeping for another hour! When I woke up again, I didn’t really feel like reading for a full 24 hours, so I figured, why not just reread the whole Percy Jackson series. (‘Cause I’m logical that way.) Anyways, it took me about 12 hours, but I read all five books, which was honestly really fun! Anyways, below I’ve written my favorite parts of each book, and then attached some pictures of quotes I enjoyed. I also put in some pictures of my pets who visited me throughout the day! Happy reading!
