17

It’s October 17th, and my 17th birthday! I’ve had an overwhelming last few weeks, and have barely had time to think about what this post was going to be, let alone write it.

When I started blogging, I remember seeing high school bloggers talk about how busy they were, and the struggles of balancing blogging and life. In 7th grade, that really wasn’t an issue for me, but it definitely is now. I’m sad that I’m not able to prioritize blogging like I used to, and I always want to write more posts, to be more active.

Even if I’m not able to do as much as I used to, I still love blogging, and am really excited for another year of it. For this post, I’m going to talk about some books I love, 17, to be specific!

17 Books I Love

In this stack of books are seventeen of my favorite books.

Some of them are old favorites and some are new favorites, and they’re all really amazing!

This is also in no way a comprehensive list of my favorite books – this is just 17 favorite I own that I picked out for this stack!

I feel like this list is a pretty good representation of my reading tastes, and how different books have been really important to me at different times.

For example, I loved the Little House books when I was younger, and in middle school I loved Cinderella is Dead (and still do).

Some of these books are also newer (to me, at least) – I read When Women Were Dragons just this past summer, and although it’s not an old favorite, I think about it all the time, and I know that it deserves a spot on this list.

Here are all of the books (in order, from the top)

  1. When Women Were Dragons, by Kelly Barnhill
  2. Rooftoppers, by Katherin eRundell
  3. The Penderwicks on Gardam Street, by Jeanne Birdsall
  4. The Lightning Thief, by Rick Riordan
  5. The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins
  6. The Upstairs Room, by Johanna Reiss
  7. Six of Crows, by Leigh Bardugo
  8. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, by Taylor Jenkins Reid
  9. Hattie Big Sky, by Kirby Larson
  10. Last Night at the Telegraph Club, by Malinda Lo
  11. Heartstopper, by Alice Oseman
  12. Little House on the Prairie, by Laura Ingalls Wilder
  13. The Henna Wars, by Adiba Jaigirdar
  14. A Wrinkle in Time, by Madeline L’Engle
  15. Cinderella is Dead, by Kalynn Bayron
  16. These Violent Delights, by Chloe Gong
  17. These Bronzed Beasts, by Roshani Chokshi

  1. I hope you had a lovely birthday Aria! 🥰 It is hard to balance blogging when life gets busy, but I am excited for your content for the next year as long as you enjoy it.
I read When Women Were Dragons last year too and it was a great move to compare women to dragons!
