Hello and happy Monday! I hope that you are all having a good start to your weeks! I got to read an advance copy of This May End Badly, by Samantha Markum recently, and I loved it! It’s a really fun book, with a lot of important messages and themes. This May End Badly comes out tomorrow, April 12th, and if you’re a fan of YA contemporaries, then it’s one I definitely recommend. Hello, and happy Monday! This week is going to busy for me at school because of finals, but it’s only a three day week, which is really nice. Hello, and happy Tuesday! Today is my stop on the blog tour for The Ogress and the Orphans, by Kelly Barnhill, and I am so excited to share my review of this amazing book with you all today. I loved The Girl Who Drank the Moon, another book by Kelly Barnhill, so when I saw that she was coming out with another book, I was thrilled. The Ogress and the Orphans came out today, March 8th, which means that it’s officially out in the world for everyone to read. Hello! This morning, I had a two-hour delay for school because it was really icy. Where I live, we hardly ever get snow and seem to be incapable of handling the slightest bits of cold. It was really nice to have the extra time, though, and I was able to read a bunch. I even finished reading Bloody Spade, by Brittany M. Willows! Hello! I hope you’ve all had lovely weekends. My weekend was pretty good. I went to a pumpkin patch with some friends this afternoon, and it ended up raining really hard, but it was so much fun! I only have a four day week at school because it’s a grading day, which is really nice, so I’m at least looking forwards to that!
Anyways, I’m really excited for today’s review: it’s for one of my favorite books, and one of my most anticipated releases of this year: Our Violent Ends, by Chloe Gong, the finale to the These Violent Delights duology!
These Violent Delights is a historical fantasy set in 1920’s Shanghai, about the heirs to two gangs, the Scarlets and the White Flowers, who despite a blood feud going back must work together to stop a dangerous monster tearing through the city, infecting people and causing them to rip out their very own throats.
It’s an incredible book, so when I received an advance copy from the publisher I was ecstatic. So, without further ado, I’m going to dive right into my review for this amazing historical fantasy.
