WWW Wednesday 65

Hello, and happy Wednesday! Today was my first day of the new trimester at school, so I had a mostly new schedule. I’m getting to take journalism, and I’m really excited for that. My teacher is really nice, and I have a couple friends in the class. Anyways, since nanowrimo is over, I’ve had a lot more time to read! So, here is a little update for my current reading situation!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On a World of Words, and how it works is each week I answer three questions about my the books I’ve read, finished reading and want to read next.

The three Ws:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Bloody Spade, by Brittany M. Willows, Aria’s Traveling Bookshop, by Rebecca Raisin and The Gilded Wolves, by Roshani Chokshi.

I made a fair amount of progress on Bloody Spade. And while I do like the book, it is a bit slow paced. I do think that I will be able to finish it in the next couple days though, so you can expect my review of it pretty soon.

Aria’s Traveling Bookshop is as boring as ever. But, I really really need to finish it, and I think that if I just sit down and read I’d be able to finish it in an hour or two. So hopefully, I’ll finish this one as well in the next few days!

The Gilded Wolves is one that I know I’ll love, since it’s a reread, but it’s more about finding the time to get through it. Hopefully, I’ll have that time in the next week!

What did you recently finish reading?

In the past week, I’ve finished three books: If This Gets Out, by Sophie Gonzales (my review), The Song of Achilles, by Madeline Miller, and The Night Circus, by Erin Morgenstern.

All three of these I really really loved. I loved Sophie Gonzales’s other book, Perfect on Paper, and I was thrilled when I heard about If This Get’s Out. I loved reading it so, so much, and it’s such an incredible book!

The Song of Achilles was also really beautiful. The writing, the character development… everything was absolutely incredible. The only issue I had with the book was that the ending wasn’t nearly as sad as I’d expected. There was so much build up… and if felt a little disappointing. I think this was mostly because of how high my expectations for it were, thanks to how popular the book is. I still loved it though!

The Night Circus was an absolutely amazing read, and it is definitely one of my favorite books of 2021. It has such a unique plot and timeline, and the characters are all so fascinating. It’s also historical fantasy, which many of you know if my absolute favorite genre. All in all, I love it so much.

Next, I want to read Daughter of the Deep, by Rick Riordan, Heartstopper Volume 3, by Alice Oseman and The Matzah Ball, by Jean Meltzer.

I’m so, so excited for all three, and I think that they’ll all be pretty quick reads for me. Heartstopper definitely will because it’s a graphic novel, but Daughter of the Deep and The Matzah Ball both also seem very fast paced.

Have you read any of the books I mentioned? What are you currently reading? Chat with me in the comments below!
