Hello, and happy Wednesday! This is my first WWW Wednesday post in a very long time (somehow it’s been 8 months since I last did one of these) but I’m so excited to be writing this one! While putting it together, I realized how much I missed making these each Wednesday, so you can expect to see a lot more reading updates from now on!!
My first day of ninth grade is also tomorrow: I’m starting high school in less than 12 hours, which is exciting but also kind of terrifying. I’m really happy with my schedule though, and I even got journalism as one of my electives!! Thats not until second trimester though, so I have a few more months until I get to take the class. I’m so happy I got it though!!
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On a World of Words, and how it works is each week I answer three questions about my the books I’ve read, finished reading and want to read next.
The three Ws:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
I’m currently reading The Falling in Love Montage, by Ciara Smyth, and The Mime Order, by Samantha Shannon.
The Falling in Love Montage is a really sweet book, and I’m loving it so much!! I’m almost done, and am going to try to finish over the next couple days.
The Mime Order is the sequel to The Bone Season, which I loved. I’m not too far into The Mime Order, but so much has happened already, and I can’t wait to find out what happens next with it all.
What did you recently finish reading?
I recently read Fighting Words, by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley, and The Bronzed Beasts, by Roshani Chokshi.
I’ve wanted to read Fighting Words since it came out in August 2020, and I’m so glad that I finally got to it! It’s such an incredible book, and I 100% recommend it to everyone reading this post. It’s so beautifully written, and has such important messages surrounding mental health, and family.
Finally reading The Bronzed Beasts was absolutely magical. I’ve been waiting for this book for so long, and it exceeded every expectation I had for it. I cried, I laughed, and I cried a whole lot more while reading it, and overall loved every page. I’m sad that the Gilded Wolves trilogy is over, because I’ve been following the books for so long, but the final book was everything I could have hoped for, and more.
What do you think you’ll read next?
Next, I want to read Our Violent Ends, by Chloe Gong and I Was Anastasia, by Ariel Lawhon. I am so excited for the conclusion to the These Violent Delights duology!! I also loved one of Ariel Lawhon’s other books, Code Name Helene, and have heard amazing things about I was Anastasia, which has given me really high expectations for it.
The 39 clues series also started my obsession with the Romanovs in 6th grade, and that still isn’t over so I think that I’m going to love I Was Anastasia!
