WWW Wednesday 39

Hello!! Today was my third day of school, and I have had A LOT of zoom meetings, but I’ve still had time to read, so I’m going to get right into this week’s WWW Wednesday!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On a World of Words, and how it works is each week I answer three questions about my the books I’ve read, finished reading and want to read next:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Anne of Green Gables, by L. M. Montgomery, Tweet Cute, by Emma Lord and The Sword Thief, by Peter Lerangis.

I’m pretty far into Tweet Cute, and it is AMAZING. It’s such a cute story, and Pepper and Jack are amazing characters. I’m really excited to finish it!

I didn’t make any progress on Anne of Green Gables or The Sword Thief, but I’m hoping to get through more of both of them this week.

What did you recently finish reading?

Last week I finished three books, American Royals, by Katharine McGee, Empress of the World, by Sara Ryan, and Felix Ever After, by Kacen Callender.

American Royals was fun. It was interesting enough, and the plot was never boring. The writing was fine, but nothing really stood out. I felt like some of the characters weren’t very interesting, and the one’s that I sort of liked at the beginning just made worse and worse decisions until all of them were just horrible people.

Daphne drove me crazy, and I hated reading from her perspective. All of her actions were somehow ‘justified’ in her mind, and the one thing she sort of felt guilty about she tried to hide? It was confusing. Overall, this is just barely a 3 star read. I had a lot of fun with it, and I’m glad I read it, but I don’t think that I’m going to be in any hurry to pick up the sequel.

Empress of the World was a very solid four star read. It was fun to read, and the characters were complex. The plot was interesting, and never got boring. It just didn’t have that spark that some books had that would make me give it that fifth star.

Felix Ever after was amazing, and I really loved reading it. It wasn’t quite a 5 star read for me though, but I still definitely recommend it.

If you want to see all the books I’ve read so far this year, check out my Goodreads, where I (mostly) keep up with all the books I read.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I have quite a few books on my TBR that I want to read in the next week, but the three at the top are The Woman’s Hour, by Elaine Weiss, All American Boys, by Jason Reynolds and Circe, by Madeline Miller.

If I get through all three of those then I’m going to try and read the books that have been lent to me, and then go to the ones that were on my September TBR!

Have you read any of the books I mentioned? What are you currently reading? Chat with me in the comments below!

    1. I just finished Tweet Cute and it is AMAZING!! (That scene towards the end with the grandma is definitely my favorite haha) Circe looks so good, and I’m very excited for it.
