September 2020 wrap up and October goals

I’m really excited that it is almost October, and that it is already fall! I love fall so much with the rain, and the leaves changing color, and pumpkin spice everything, and of course Halloween! Anyways, here is what I did in September, and my goals for October!

In August I read 14 books…

  • 2 were audiobooks
  • 1 was an ebook
  • 11 were physical books

This month, I read so many amazing books! I read a few books that I’ve heard the most amazing things about: American Royals, Felix Ever After, and the two last books in the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy.

I’d added Dress Coded to my TBR a while ago, but I decided to read the audiobook, and it is incredible! I definitely recommend it, and the narration was so fun to listen to.

Empress of the World has been sitting on my bookshelf for months, and I am so glad that I finally read it!

Anyways, I read 14 books overall, which is pretty good considering that I’ve been in a reading slump for a while. But I didn’t read a lot of the books that I’ve been meaning to read.

My goals for posting in September were…

That is 13 posts, which I am honestly fine with. I was in a blogging slump for the first part of the month, and I started school 3 quarters of the way through the month, and that definitely is taking time away from reading and blogging.

I am terrible at sticking to TBRs, but I’m still going to attempt to make one.

These are most of the books that I’m hoping to read in October! I am going to reread the Trials of Apollo series in preparation for The Tower of Nero which comes out in one week!! I am so excited for it!! I’m also really excited for Darius the Great is Not Okay, because I have heard so many incredible things about the book.

For October, I’m not going to set a ton of really specific goals, but here is overall what I want to do:

  • 1 Top Ten Tuesdays
  • 2 WWW Wednesdays
  • 2 Reviews
  • 2 Let’s Talk Bookish/Discussions
  • 4 Tags
  • 5 Other posts

That is 16 posts, and I think it’s pretty realistic? I’m just going to try to do that, and see how it goes.

I got a little bit of writing done this month. I wrote a few more pages, which wasn’t as much as I’d hoped. I think that I need to take a break from my current project, and so for all of October I’m going to work on plotting out the novel that I want to write in November, for NaNoWriMo.

I know that I won’t have as much time because of school, so I think that writing out an outline of the book, and also writing up some things about the characters will be a good goal.

My bookish and non-bookish life (so basically school)

I finally ended up starting school on September 21st, which is much later than usual! I was supposed to start on the 14th, but because of all of the smoke, it was postponed.

That’s going okay, I guess. It’s a very different start to 8th grade than I ever imagined though! Everything is online, and I have hours of zoom meetings almost every day. It can be pretty tiring, and staying focused for multiple hour long zoom classes is difficult.

I’m still only halfway through my second week, so I’ll have a better sense of what it’s really going to be like in a little while.

Also, I am fostering three adorable kittens!!!

That one right there is Zoë, who we are probably going to adopt!

All three of them are so sweet, and so fun to play with! My dog Clover is in love with the kittens, and is constantly trying to play with them. She’s really gentle, and it’s really cute to watch.

One last thing: in August I did a form for my 1-year blogiversary, and before I do the post reacting to your assumptions about me, I kind of want a few more answers, so PLEASE??

Well, that is the end of my wrap up! This is the first time that I’m actually posting the wrap up on the last day of the month, and I’ve been trying to do that for a few months now, so that’s good! The wrap up is just one of the posts that you can’t write in advance, so I always try to do all of it in one day, and that takes a while! Overall, I have a pretty good month, and I read a bunch of good books, so yeah!

  1. Wow, looks like you were super productive! And you read the whole Heroes of Olympus series. I’m still stuck with House of Hades. I have to admit I don’t like the Heroes series quite as much. 😛
Little Zoe is adorable. I love void kitties. And she seems to be interested in books. Very good. 😀

    1. I also prefer PJO. House of Hades was actually one of my favorite books in the series (although it is sad). And yes, she is very interested in books. A wonderful thing. (And she’s named after Zoë Nightshade, so…)
