I kind of completely waited until the last minute to finish this, but I did it!!
My wonderful readers, it’s here, and I am incredibly happy to share with you today my nominations for the 2020 book blogger awards!
This is the fourth annual book bloggers awards, and this year it is being hosted by May @ Forever and Everly and Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books! I really appreciate them organizing this because I think the awards are a wonderful way to discover new blogs and to support our fellow book bloggers!
Also, there are so many amazing bloggers out there, and I couldn’t put all of you into this post!! If I didn’t put your blog here, it doesn’t mean that I don’t love it! I don’t want to make anyone feel bad, that is the opposite of what this is for.
BEST OF THEIR AGE
Best Pre-Teen/Teen Book Blogger (13-19)
Rukky @ Eternity Books is one of my favorite bloggers, and she posts so much amazing content! She is the creator and co-host of Let’s Talk Bookish, a weekly meme post, and the discussions that she writes for it are always wonderful. She is one of the most thoughtful bloggers I know, and she always has so many great book recommendations. I’ve added quite a bit of historical fiction to my TBR because of her!
Best Adult Book Blogger (20+)
Margaret @ Weird Zeal has the sort of blog that just makes you want to read and read and read until you’ve read every single one of her posts. I love the quotes that she highlights on her blog (look at that one on her blog header!!) and her book recs are wonderful! Her writing style and personality combined make her posts engaging and interesting to read, and I definitely recommend checking out her blog!
BEST GENRE BLOGGERS
Young Adult
Kaya @ A Fictional Bookworm writes about so many different young adult books! I love reading her reviews and reading about her thoughts on ya books in general! Kaya is so nice, and I love chatting with her about all things bookish!
BEST OF BOOK BLOGGING
Best Book Reviews
I read so many amazing posts from Julie @ One Book More, but the ones that I love the most are her book reviews. Julie’s review’s always have her thoughts on the book, and also some of her favorite lines. I have learned about so many amazing books from Julie, and it’s really impressive how many reviews she manages to write!
Best Book Recommendations
If I ever need book recommendations, I go to May @ Forever and Everly. For example, she has written a post with 50+ YA Books by QPOC About QPOC, and a post with 25 Books by Asian Authors, and many more. May recommends so many books, and I really appreciate all of her efforts to support diverse books!
Best Discussion Posts
There are many things about Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books that make her one of my favorite bloggers, but what I love reading from her the most are her discussions. They are detailed, insightful, and talk about important topics in ways that are thorough and also very concise and easy to read. Her recent discussion on trigger warnings and why they matter to her (which I linked above) is a really important topic that she discussed in an amazing way.
Best Blog Aesthetic
Xandra @ Starry Sky Books has a truly magical blog. Her blog has a darker theme with lots of stars and books, and the whole blog is put together in a really beautiful way. Whenever I’m reading one of her posts, her whole blog’s environment contributes to how much I enjoy reading her posts.
Best Blogging/Writing Voice
Daria @ A Bookaholic’s Therapy has a very unique and entertaining blog, and what makes me enjoy reading her posts the most is her writing. Her sense of humor really shows in her posts, and her wonderful writing is always accompagnied by lots of gifs! I always love reading her posts so much, and definitely recommend reading her blog.
MISCELLANEOUS
Most Helpful (someone who posts thoughtful blogging guides/advice)
Ruby @ Ruby Reads and Reviews has a weekly blog series called How-To Saturday, and in each post she writes ideas and advice on all sorts of topics like hosting a book club, or how to acheive your reading goals! Her blog is overall wonderful, but her how-to posts are definitely my favorites and the ones that I most enjoy reading.
Xandra @ Starry Sky Books is also one of the most helpful bloggers I know, and that’s why I’m nominating her for a second category! She recently wrote a really great post with some tips and tricks for bookstagram related stuff, which I found really helpful. Her posts are very easy to understand, and are detailed and concise, and I adore reading them.
Most Supportive
Caitlin @ Caitlin Althea is one of my favorite book bloggers and she is so supportive throughout the book community! She often leaves very long and thoughtful comments on posts, and I’ve had great conversations about books with her. Caitlin has a monthly series on her blog of her favorite posts of the month, and supports bloggers and shares their work while talking about why she liked each post.
Most Creative
Olivia @ Purely Olivia has such fun and unique posts! Her writing style makes them all the more fun to read, and I love reading about all of the books she mentions. Her post of book recs based off TV shows, which I linked to above, was so much fun, and such a creative idea!!
Best Personality
When I was thinking of who to nominate for this award, Ilsa @ A Whisper of Ink immediately came to my mind. She always has really creative and entertaining posts, and I love reading them all! She is so sweet and a super kind blogger, and I love her and her blog so much!
Friendliest Member of the Community
Jane @ Blogger Books is one of the first book bloggers that I discovered, and I’ve been reading her blog for almost a year now. Since then, I have had so many conversations through comments (mostly about our mutual love for The Penderwicks) and they have all been amazing. Jane is so friendly and kind, and that shows through her thoughtful comments and also her blog posts. You should definitely go read her blog, because it deserves so much love!
Best at Promoting Diverse Books
Lori @ The Reading Fairy has an amazing blog in general, but my favorite thing about it is that she is always promoting and talking about diverse books. Her post that I linked to above, 10 books by Black authors that she really wants to read, is just one example of the recommendations for diverse books that she constantly supplies on her blog.
MOST IMPORTANTLY
Best New Book Blogger (started blog after August 2019)
I only recently discovered Abby @ Beyond the Read, but her posts are really wonderful, and I adore reading them. Her personality is so sweet, and her writing is really clear!
Best Overall Book Blogger
Kay @ Hammock of Books is one of the kindest book bloggers out there. She leaves thoughtful comments on so many posts, and I have had amazing conversations in the comment section. Kay also has wonderful posts. Her reviews are always very articulate, and I have added many books to my TBR through her blog. Her writing voice is so funny, and she has done many hilarious posts on Rick Riordan books which I have loved reading! Overall, I love everything about Kay’s blog, and I definitely encourage all of you to go check it out.
Well, that’s that! I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading this, and found a some new blogs to follow!
Again, if I didn’t mention your blog, it doesn’t mean I don’t love it; I just can’t put every amazing blog out there in one single post!
Thank you so much for nominating me, Aria!💜 And for saying those amazing things about me. I’m really happy you like reading my posts!
Sadly, I haven’t participated in The Book Blogger Award nomination this year. I was thinking if I should make a post or not, if I’m reading a diverse variety of book bloggers to make sure the nominations would be perfect that by the time I decided to do it, the nomination period was over…
But I’ll make sure to participate next year! This is such a great way to promote wonderful book bloggers and you did just that!🤗
