Hello, and happy Friday! I’m getting my wisdom teeth out later today, which I’m not looking forwards too. I did make sure that I was able to get this post out this morning though, since I know I probably won’t be feeling up for doing too much blogging this evening! Anyways, we’re a little more than halfway through 2023 now, so this week’s LTB topic is a little mid-year reading check in!
Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly bookish meme created by Rukky @ Eternity Books and has been hosted by me since April 2022! Each Friday, there is a discussion topic for bloggers to write about. This week’s topic is a mid-year reading check in!

We’re halfway through 2023! How are you feeling about your reading this year?
I’m feeling okay about my reading this year! I adjusted my reading goal a little bit into the year down to 40 books, which is lower than usual. Since I’ve been so busy with school, I felt like that would be a more realistic goal to have.
I’ve currently read 21 books this year, so I’m right on track for that goal!

What are the best books you’ve read so far in 2023?
Out of the 21 books I’ve read, 8 have been rereads, so I’m not going to count those.
These are the three best new books that I’ve read this year:
The Only Woman in the Room, by Marie Benedict, The Sun and the Star, by Rick Riordan and Mark Oshiro and Red Queen, by Victoria Aveyard.

What are your least favorites?
I was a little disappointed by A Million to One, by Adiba Jaigirdar when I read it earlier this year. It wasn’t bad, but I think I just went into it with really high expectations that made me enjoy the book a lot less.
What are your goals for the rest of the year?
My main reading goal for the rest of the year is to try and meet my goal of 40 books.
I’m also going to try and read a little every day, even if it’s just a little, because sometimes I won’t read for a few days, which turns into a few weeks, and then I’m barely reading at all, which I don’t want to happen.
