Hey there!!! I am really excited for this post, because, as you may have guessed from the title, I am here today with a readathon! That I have created! Now I don’t know if there are other Percy Jackson Readathons out there, and there probably are, but I came up with the idea for this on, and well, here it is now! So, for how this is going to work, and all those details, read on!
First off, why am I doing this?
So, I had been wanting to reread the Percy Jackson books for a while, and so I was going to reread as many of them as I could in June, since I already had a set TBR for May that I’d planned out at the beginning of the month.
Then, I overhear my sister listening to some of the audiobooks, and that made me want to reread them even more because I remembered all of these amazing parts that I was really excited about.
Then, I read this wonderful post by Kay @ Hammock of Books (also, you should definitely go check out her amazing blog) about how she reread the Percy Jackson series. So, I thought that if lots of people probably hadn’t read the Percy Jackson books since they were younger, then there might be some people who would want to reread the series. Then I read her wonderful post comparing the Percy Jackson series and the Heroes of Olympus series. Then I read her mini reviews of all of the books in the Heroes of Olympus series. So basically, reading that made me realize, hey, I want to do this, and I’ve read a post of someone else who already did this, and maybe there will be other people who want to do this!
Then, the wonderful amazing fantastic incredible news about the Percy Jackson series that’s going to be on Disney + came out, so that made me want to do this even more!
So, that’s how me wanting to reread a few books turned into me making a readathon that I’m doing that I hope a few other people might do as well!
How this is going to work:
Basically, it’s going to be pretty simple. There’s going to be three levels; camper, year-rounder and quester. (I’ll explain those later.) The level you choose will determine how many books you read throughout the month.
Then, you’ll pick the books that you want to read (for example, you could choose to be a year rounder and read the Heroes of Olympus series). Or, you could just go through the month picking up whatever book you feel like, and be in the camper category, picking 1-4 random books from the 3 different series.
If you do it, it might be helpful to do a sign up post, even if it’s really short. That way, if you link to my blog, I can see if anyone does it!
Also, you don’t have to be rereading the books. If you’ve never read the Percy Jackson books before, you could try the first book or two, and see how you like it!
Then, throughout the month of June you’re going to read the books!

I also made some headers/images for it. If you do it, you can use them, or you can make your own! They’re pretty simple, and are all pretty much the same.

The camper is the first level. The campers go to camp half blood for the summer, then during the school year, return to their families or to school. If you choose to be a camper, that means that you’ll read 1 to 4 books of your choosing. That includes books from the Percy Jackson and the Olympicans series, the Heroes of Olympus series and the Trials of Apollo series!

The year rounder is the second level. A year rounder lives and trains at camp half blood all year round. If you choose to be a year rounder, you’ll read one entire series of your choosing. This could be the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, the Heroes of Olympus series, or the Trials of Apollo series. The Trials of Apollo series is at this moment only four books, but it will count for the year rounder level if you read all four of them.

The quester is the third and final level. If you choose to be a quester, that means that you will take on the task of reading two or more full series. This could be choosing to read two of the following three series: the Percy Jackson series, the Heroes of Olympus series, and the Trials of Apollo series.
Books and series that count for this readathon:
Percy Jackson and the Olympians: the original five book series
The Heroes of Olympus: the five book series that follows the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series
The Trials of Apollo series, which follows The Heroes of Olympus and Percy Jackson series
p.s. book five, The Tower of Nero, comes out on September 29. But for now it’s just those 4.
So, to simplify this, here are the rules/ guidelines for how this is going to work:
- Pick a level: Camper, year rounder, or quester
- Write a sign up post/TBR and link to this page.
- For the month of June, read!
So, would you want to participate in this readathon? Do you know anyone who might want to? Let me know what you think in the comments below!
But really. If you want to do it, you should totally participate, if it’s reading one book or 10! If you know someone who might want to do this, share it with them!
