Hello, happy Fall, and Shana Tova! Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, started this evening, which is so fun, because it’s one of my favorite holidays! Anyways, even though I’m a few days late on this week’s LTB, I’m really excited for this topic. I thought that it would be a perfect time to talk about reading seasonally, because we just entered (what I think is) the best season of the year. Fall is so fun, and other than the business of starting school, it’s definitely my favorite season. Anyways, let’s talk about reading seasonally!
Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly bookish meme created by Rukky @ Eternity Books and has been hosted by me since April of this year! Each Friday, there is a discussion topic for bloggers to write about. This week’s topic is reading seasonally, (suggested by Mikaela @ Mikaela Reads)

Do you read seasonally? Do you like a beach read in summer, a spooky book in the autumn and holiday themed ones in winter?
I kind of do! I don’t think about reading seasonally a ton, but if I look over the genres that I tend to read during different seasons, there definitely are patterns. I definitely read a little bit of everything all year round, but some genres just work better during certain seasons.
Thrillers and mysteries and epic fantasies are perfect for fall and winter, and that’s when I read them the most. Historical fiction is good year round, but contemporary romance books are so fun in spring! Summer is good for standalones – for some reason I don’t read series as often during summer.
And of course there’s lots of books that just fit perfectly into certain seasons, and I’ll list a few of those later!
What’s your favorite season?
Definitely fall! Between the Jewish high holidays, my birthday in October, pumpkin patches, Halloween and Thanksgiving pie, it’s definitely my favorite season. Plus, there’s NaNoWriMo in November, which I love doing, so I always write a ton in fall!!
Do you have any favorite seasonal reads?
These books aren’t ones that I necessarily reread every year, but they are all just feel very seasonal to me.
