November 2021 wrap up and December goals

Well. It’s December 1st, meaning another month has come and gone in what feels like no time at all. I did nanowrimo this November, so most of my month was spent writing, which was a lot of fun. I am glad that it’s over though, and that now I can spend more time blogging, and just overall relaxing.

Anyways, I have a lot of plans for this next month, so I’m going to dive right into my November wrap up and my goals for December!

In November, I read four books

  • All four were physical books
  • Two of them were graphic novels

This isn’t great, especially considering both Heartstopper books too me no time, and that I’d already started I’ll Give you the Sun and The Mime Order before November. But, considering the fact that I was doing nanowrimo through all of November, I’m happy with having read/finished these four books.

In November I wrote…

In total, I wrote seven posts in November. And although they aren’t all the most substantive posts, I’m still happy with it because I spent a lot more of my time writing for nanowrimo, which took away a lot of the time that I’d usually spend on blogging.

With nanowrimo over, and winter break starting in just a couple weeks, I’m hoping to have a lot more time to read! There is a pretty long list of books that I want to read and finish, so I’m going to do my best to go through as many as I can.

Here are a few of the ones that I want to read! I’m only missing a few that I wasn’t able to get images of, but hopefully you’ll see me talk about them as I read them all throughout the month.

I have a whole bunch of posts that I want to write in December, and there are a ton to prepare for the new year. I think that what I want to do will be reasonable though, and I have winter break, plus a long weekend coming up soon, to give me lots of time for that.

There are 19 posts that I’m really hoping to write this month, and I’m excited for all of them! End of year stuff is always so fun to post about, and I can’t wait to write lots of great holiday blog posts!

I did a ton of writing this month because it was nanowrimo, and I’m really proud of how I did! I’m going to do a whole post on this later, as a little writing update, so you can keep an eye out for that in the next week!

But for a quick update on my current writing situation:

My original goal for nanowrimo was to go for the whole fifty thousand words. That’s a lot to do, and between writing, school, and dance, I wasn’t able to even get that close. I did write a ton though, and I’m super happy with how I did!

I finished the month with just over 32 thousand words, and I’m honestly really happy with that. I got through three out of five parts of the book, and since I’d planned for each part to be about ten thousand words, I’m really glad that that worked out.

Life

I’ve got a lot going on with school, and that has taken time away from blogging, reading and writing which is sad.

I’ve also had a ton of dance lately, which has been going alright. We have a show coming up soon though, and it’s been really stressful. I’m excited for our show, but I’m also excited for the break.

Finals are this week, so that coinciding with the end of nano has been a lot. My two biggest tests are tomorrow and Friday though, so I’m going to do my best on those!

I had a band concert last Tuesday, and that was really really fun! It was my first high school band concert, and my first band concert since before covid, so it was nice to have that experience.

I ended up taking a pretty long break from bookstagram through all of November. I haven’t posted since November 3rd, and with nano going on I just really didn’t have time, and I had a lot of other things I needed to prioritize. I’m hoping to go back over the weekend though, and I have some plans for a more wintry theme.

And now I’m going to shamelessly self promote because I’m actually really happy with how my account is looking right now. So if you have instagram, follow me there 😁

And that wraps up today’s post! I don’t have much else to say, and I think that I’ve covered a lot of things here. I’d love to hear how your November was, and if you have any holiday plans!

  2. I had a bit of a gap with Bookstagram in November too! I’m trying to pick it back up again this month. I love the Heartstopper books so much, I haven’t read 3 or 4 yet because I’m saving them for a rainy day I guess? I have no idea why I keep putting them off.

And congrats on NaNoWriMo, that’s an incredible amount of writing!

  3. You plan to write 19 posts for December? That’s crazy awesome. I myself can barely handle once a week. I’ve just started on Divergent #1, a little late, but just getting my YA game one. Anyway, thanks for this post!
