WWW Wednesday 62

Hello, and happy Wednesday! We’re officially three days into nanowrimo, and I’ve made pretty good progress so far. I’m definitely behind already, but I’m not too far behind and I am hoping that I’ll be able to really catch up over the weekend! Anyways, here is a quick little reading update for you all!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On a World of Words, and how it works is each week I answer three questions about my the books I’ve read, finished reading and want to read next.

The three Ws:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Bloody Spade, Aria’s Traveling Bookshop, The Gilded Wolves, Dance of Thieves, by Mary E. Pearson, The Night Circus, by Erin Morgenstern, I’ll Give You the Sun, by Jandy Nelson, and The Song of Achilles, by Madeline Miller.

I read a couple more chapters of both Bloody Spade and The Night Circus, and am loving them both!!

I also read a bit more of I’ll Give You the Sun, but am liking it a lot less. I do have a reading quiz tomorrow on the first part of the third chapter, and I’m not at all excited for that. The chapters of I’ll Give You the Sun are wayy too long. One is over eighty pages!! It makes the book feel like it really drags on, and makes it harder to get through.

I just started listening to the audiobook of The Song of Achilles today, and I loved it already!! I can tell that I’m going to fly through this one, and I’m already so invested in the plot!

What did you recently finish reading?

Last week, I finished reading The Mime Order, by Samantha Shannon. It took me a very long time to get through the book, but it is absolutely AMAZING. Samantha Shannon is a truly incredible author, and it was amazing to continue with the Bone Season series. I’m so excited to read the next book in the series!

Next, I want to read The Keeper of the Night, by Lee Baker, if I can. I’m in the middle of way too many books right now though, and I’m going to focus on finishing those first, and them move onto this one!

Have you read any of the books I mentioned? What are you currently reading? Chat with me in the comments below!

  1. You’re reading so many great books! 👏🏻 The Song of Achilles is wonderful, I’m glad you’re enjoying it, and I’ll Give You the Sun is one of my favorite books, but I completely understand what you mean, it has long chapters and that can make it feel slow-moving. 😊

    1. I’m loving The Song of Achilles SO MUCH!! The writing especially is just gorgeous.
I honestly think I would be liking I’ll Give You the Sun at least a little better if I wasn’t reading it for school. We have to analyze every detail of it, and take way too many reading quizzes on each chunk of the book 😭
I have heard some really excellent things about it, so I’m hoping to like the second half more.
