August 2021 wrap up and September goals

Hello, and happy almost… September?! 2021 has gone by so fast, and I can’t believe we’re already to September. August was pretty good for me, and a lot happened, so I’m going to get right into the wrap up of August and my goals for the next month!

In August, I read six books

  • All six were physical books!

I discovered some new favorites: My Contrary Mary was wonderful: everything I expected from these three authors and more. Walls, by L. M. Elliott was an intriguing historical novel with a fascinating perspective on the Cold War, and We Can’t Keep Meeting Like This, by Rachel Lynn Solomon, a lovely YA contemporary with great Jewish representation, and a really fun plot.

I’m not super happy with the amount I read, and it was definitely a lot less than I’d hoped to. I really loved every single book I read though; rereading two favorites (These Violent Delights and The Silvered Serpents) and I discovered three new favorites.

I buddy read Some Girls Do with Manon which was so fun, and I really loved the book!! It’s such a sweet contemporary, and every bit of it was so incredible!!

I’ve been wanting to read Fighting Words since it before it came out, over a year ago, and I was finally able to get ahold of a copy. I flew through the book in a couple hours, hardly able to put it down. I cried so much while reading Fighting Words, and it was overall so incredibly emotional. I cannot recommend a book more to such a large audience; I truly think that all kids, teenagers, and adults should read the book. I’ll try to publish a full review in September!

In August I wrote…

I wrote 16 posts in August, including this one, which I’m really proud of. I haven’t blogged this much in a very long time, and it was really fun.

I also celebrated my book blogs second birthday, which was a huge milestone for me!! I can’t believe that I’ve been blogging for that long.

Despite all of that, I’ve honestly felt really disconnected from the blogging community, and I’ve struggled with really feeling like I’m doing enough to interact with other bloggers. I want to try and do more of that, and of bloghopping in September.

This is my TBR for August!

These are 15 books that I want to read in September, and although I know it’s going to be really hard, I’m going to really try to read as many as them as I can,

I am so excited for all of them though, and hopefully I’ll read them all!!

Since school is starting this month, I’ve tried to be really organized with how I plan out my posts, and I’m happy with how I’ve done it.

I’m going to try and post three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Most importantly, I’m going to try and schedule or at least draft the posts on the weekends when I’ll have less to do.

July was Camp Nanowrimo, and I wrote a fair amount during the month. However, in August I took a bit of a step back and did less on my WIP. I’m currently at almost 19,000 words with it.

I know that I won’t be writing much in September, so I’m going to try and reach 20,000 on it, which I think is a very realistic goal for me!

I also am going to start preparing for Nanowrimo, and see where I can go with the last couple weeks of September.
