June 2021 wrap up and July goals

Hello and happy July! We are just about exactly halfway through the year, which doesn’t feel right at all. 2021 is going by so quick, and summer feels like it’s flying by. This post is a couple days later than I was hoping it would be, but I haven’t been able to do it any sooner.

I drove with my family to see some of my cousins, who we haven’t seen since before covid, and it’s been so nice to see them! We’re spending a few nights with them, and it’s so wonderful to get to see family, something I haven’t been able to do much throughout the pandemic. Anyways, now I’m just going to get right into the post!!

In June, I read 11 books

  • 1 was an audiobook
  • none were ebooks
  • 10 were physical books

I read so few books from my June TBR, but I still think that June was an okay reading month for me. I read a bunch of amazing books; The Bone Season, Hani and Ishu’s Guide to Fake Dating, They Both Die at the End, and One Last Stop. Six of Crows was a reread, and I loved it just as much as I have before!!

I ended up getting the Secrets of the Manor series from the library, and it was so fun to go back and read them. They were some of my favorite books in 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade, and they were actually just as good as I remembered them being!

In June I wrote…

My posting goal in June was 10 posts, and I’m really happy that I met that, for once! I had four Pride month posts, and only got to two of them, but I had a lot of fun with those two. I also have some more Pride related. posts that will hopefully be out in July. I think that in the last half of the month I got back into a good rhythm with blogging, and I had a lot of fun with that.

This is my TBR for July!

There are so many books I want to read in July, and I know that my TBR is probably way too big. However, most of these books are either library books/books I borrowed, review copies, and books for various book clubs and readalongs, so I kind of need to finish a lot of them!! I’m hoping that without any school, I’ll be able to make a lot more time to read, even with camp nanowrimo.

I’m also so excited for every single one of these books, and I’m hoping that I’ll love them all!!

In July I want to write 12 posts, which I’ll hopefully be able to do! I have a couple Pride related posts that I didn’t do in June that I want to do in July, as well as some fun discussions, tags, and more! I don’t have anything else that specific though for posting.

I, for maybe the first time ever, am sort of satisfied with the writing I did in June. My goal was to work on doing detailed outlining and plotting of the first half of my fantasy WIP, and to know what I’m going to do for each chapter of the first half of the book.

Because July is Camp Nanowrimo, I’m going to be trying to do a lot of writing this month. My overall goal is to draft the first half of my fantasy book, which is what I’ve been working on outlining the past couple of months. I wrote a longer post about what I’m going to be working on, and my specific goals here.

I’m also doing a writing summer camp through The Young Writer’s Initiative and July is the second half of it! It’s been really great to do, and I’m excited to do lots more writing workshops and stuff through it in July.
