Hello, and happy April! I can’t believe that March is over, and that we’re so far through the year. This past month went by quickly, but it actually was pretty good! I read a lot, and it was nice having some time off with spring break. Anyways, I’m going to get right into the post!

In March, I read 13 books

I didn’t really stick with my TBR for the month, or for the readathon that I was doing, but I read a lot of books, and I’m really happy with that. I finished the last book of The Selection series, which was fun, and I read and reread all of the Grishaverse books! It was amazing to dive back into that world.

I reread Cinder, the first book of the Lunar Chronicles, and I read the next two books, Scarlet and Cress. The series is getting better and better with every book, and I’m excited to try and finish it in April!

Perfect on Paper was absolutely amazing, and definitely one of my favorite books of the month. (my review) Animal Farm was very interesting to read, and I also thought that Bright Burning Stars was pretty good (my review).

My goal for posting in March was 10 posts, and I met that!! I’m really happy with what I got done.

This month I have 13 books on my TBR. It’s a little ambitions, but I’m actually in the middle of three of the books right now, and two of the others are pretty short. I’ll hopefully be able to read all of these books in April!

In April, I’m going to aim for 10 posts, which I think is pretty reasonable for me, even with camp nano happening. I also have a couple posts drafted, which should help with getting them out on time.

I’m not going to really pressure myself to post a lot though, because I know that I’m going to have a lot of other things going on throughout the month, so at least I want to post 8 times.

I didn’t do a ton of writing or plotting or worldbuilding in March, and at the last minute I decided to switch the project that I’m working on. Instead of spending the month editing my November novel, or working on my high fantasy one, I decided to try and get out a rough draft of a book I had the idea for like a week ago.

It’s a Peter Pan retelling, set in late 1880’s London and Neverland. Wendy is the main character, and in my version, Peter Pan is the villain. In the book, Wendy has to join forces with Captain Hook and Tiger Lily to defeat Peter Pan and free Neverland. I’ve already started it, and am a little ways in, and I’m having a lot of fun writing it.

My overall goal for my April novel is 30,000 words total. This means writing 1000 words a day on the book, and I’m confident that I’ll be able. to do this. I’m planning on trying to write more on Fridays and the weekends, so that will make it so that if I have less time on the weekdays it will work out.

I had a pretty good March, and I’m really excited for April! Camp nano is happening, and last year’s April camp was my first time participating, which is exciting. I am also going back to school in-person (only part of the time) in just a couple weeks. I’ve excited and also kind of nervous for that.

There are some books coming out in April that I can’t wait for, like Aru Shah and the City of Gold!! I am also beyond excited for the Shadow and Bone Netflix show, which comes out on April 23rd, and looks incredible.
