Hello and happy Wednesday! It’s winter break, and I am so happy since I’ve had a lot more time to read the past few days. It’s also almost the end of the year, which is crazy! I’m so excited for it to be 2021 though. Anyways, here is my current reading situation!
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On a World of Words, and how it works is each week I answer three questions about my the books I’ve read, finished reading and want to read next.
The three Ws:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
I am currently reading Scythe, by Neal Shusterman.
I’ve gotten through a good chunk of it, and so far it’s really amazing. The world is amazing and terrifying, and the story is really fascinating. I’m excited to see what comes next!
What did you recently finish reading?
I recently finished reading The Red Pyramid, by Rick Riordan, Legendborn, by Tracy Deonn and City of the Plague God, by Sarwat Chadda.
It was interesting reading all three of them right next to each other, because all of the books are centered around different mythology and folklore.
The Red Pyramid is about Egyptian mythology, Legendborn based off of Arthurian legend, and City of the Plague God about Mesopotamian mythology.
I really enjoyed Legendborn, however there were a few things that I didn’t like so much. The world was hard to understand at first, and at times there were a lot of side characters to keep track of. In the end though, the book had a wonderful plot, and I can’t wait for the sequel! (I seriously can’t wait. That cliffhanger…)
The Red Pyramid was a reread, and was wonderful as always. This time, I listened to the audiobook and it was really fun listening to it narrated by two different people, for Sadie and Carter, the main characters.
City of the Plague God was amazing! It’s a Rick Riordan Presents book, and is about a 13 year old boy named Sik and is about and is based around Mesopotamian mythology. Like all other books I’ve read from the imprint, I loved it! Anyways, I have a review of City of the Plague God coming soon, where I’ll go into a lot more depth about my thoughts on the book.
If you want to see all the books I’ve read so far this year, check out my Goodreads, where I (mostly) keep up with all the books I read.
What do you think you’ll read next?
Next week, I want to get through the rest of the Scythe trilogy, by Neal Shusterman, Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares, by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan and Before the Sword, by Grace Lin. If I have more time, then I want to read the other two books in the Dash and Lily series, which I have checked out from the library.
