Top Ten Tuesday: Questions I Would Ask My Favorite Authors

Hello there, and happy Tuesday! Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl where there is a topic and you make a list that best fits that topic! This week’s topic is Questions I Would Ask My Favorite Authors; Living or Dead. There are a lot of different ways that I could do this, but I’ve decided that I’m going to list ten questions that I would want to ask all of my favorite authors. So, they won’t be specific to any book, but more general questions. If I were actually to ask my favorite authors these questions, I would change the questions slightly, however.

How long did it take you to write and publish your first book?

When you’re writing, do you write in a specific environment, or anywhere you can?

Are the characters in your books ever inspired by people you know in real life? If so, do you tell them you based a character off of them?

What’s the hardest part of writing books for you, and what’s the easiest?

What is something you wish you’d known when you started writing?

When you start writing a book, how much time do you spend plotting, and how thourough are your outlines, if you make them?

What books and authors inspired you to become writers?

If you could meet one character from your books, who would it be? Are there any characters that you would definitely not want to meet?

Does it cause you personal pain to put your characters through terrible times? (Only if I was asking an author who puts their characters through much hardship.)

Have you ever not written something, or taken something out of your book because you felt bad for the characters?

What are some questions you’d ask your favorite authors? Are you curious about any of the ones I would ask as well? Chat with me in the comments below!
