WWW Wednesday 36

Hello! WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On a World of Words, and how it works is each week I answer three questions about my the books I’ve read, finished reading and want to read next:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I’m currently reading four books, which is less than I have been but is still a lot! The books are One False Note, by Gordon Korman, Becoming, by Michelle Obama, Anne of Green Gables, by L. M. Montgomery and Verte, by Marie Desplechin.

I haven’t made any progress on One False Note because I haven’t had any time, but I have made a lot of progress on the other three books!

I read a lot more of Becoming, and the book is so amazing!! I think that I only have a little over five hours left, which is not much, as the audiobook is 19 hours!

I’m reading Anne of Green Gables with my family, and we got through a bit more this week. I do think that we’re going to finish it soon though because we’re going to have to spend a lot of time in the car, and that’s when we usually listen to the audiobook.

Verte is okay, but I’m really reading it for the French. I got through a little more and it is getting better though!

What did you recently finish reading?

I recently finished reading Catching Fire, by Suzanne Collins, Mockingjay, by Suzanne Collins, A Night Divided, by Jennifer A. Nielsen, Impersonation, by Heidi Pitlor and My Plain Jane, by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows.

I borrowed the rest of the Hunger Games trilogy from my friend, and I got through them pretty quickly. They were definitely not as good as the first ones though. The second book was really good, just not as incredible and I did enjoy the third book, but it wasn’t as amazing as the two that came before it.

I’ve had a copy of A Night Divided for YEARS, but I kept putting off reading it. I tried to a few years ago when I first got it but I was terrified, and then never really wanted to finish it, I guess. I started it over and read it in basically one sitting. The book is so gripping and interesting, but is also good for younger readers.

My Plain Jane was really hilarious, and had a very interesting and funny plot, but unfortunately it just wasn’t as good as the book that came before it in the series. I do want to definitely read the third book though, as soon as I can get my hands on a copy!

I was not really liking the beginning of Impersonation, but I did really like the ending and the last section of the book. You can read my review here.

If you want to see all the books I’ve read so far this year, check out my Goodreads, where I (mostly) keep up with all the books I read. So, if you want to see how much I’ve read and what I’ve read, look there.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Next I’m planning on reading The Woman’s Hour, by Elaine Weiss, The Gilded Wolves, by Roshani Chokshi, The Silvered Serpents, by Roshani Chokshi, Far From the Tree, by Robin Benway and All American Boys, by Jason Reynolds.

If you read my last few WWW Wednesdays, you may have noticed that this list is staying pretty similar. But I am actually going to read The Gilded Wolves this week, and The Silvered Serpents, and The Woman’s Hour.

Also, isn’t the cover of Far From the Tree absolutely stunning?? The leaves are so cool!

Have you read any of the books I mentioned? What are you currently reading? Chat with me in the comments below!

      1. It’s a nonfiction book talking about the importance of intersectional feminism. I’m three or four chapters in now, it’s enlightening stuff but also upsetting considering the topics brought up.

  1. I’m so happy you’re enjoying Becoming! I need to get back into it when the audiobook is available on Scribd (because the audiobook is narrated by Michelle Obama herself and it’s amazing) again because I was really loving it the first time I was reading it.
And All American Boys is also on my TBR, tho I don’t know when I’ll get to it…
    Happy reading!!
