My TBR for The Reading Rush Readathon

Hello! This is a kind of last minute post, but I saw some things about this readathon, and I really wanted to do it. So, without further ado, here is my list of the books that I want to read for The Reading Rush!

The Reading Rush is a week long readathon for book lovers all around the world. For one week readers gather together to read as much as they possibly can and to participate in challenges and giveaways online.

1/ Read a book with a cover that matches the colour of your birth stone.

My birthday is in October, so according to this I need to find a book with a pink color. For that, I am going to go with To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. The copy below has barely any pink, but the one I’m going to be reading has lots more of the color!

I’ve heard so so many amazing things about this book, and I’ve wanted to read it for a very long time.

2/ Read a book that starts with the word “The”.

I have two books that I am going to put down for this: The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang and The Weight of the Stars by K. Ancrum.

3/ Read a book that inspired a movie you’ve already seen.

I know I reread The Lightning Thief, by Rick Riordan less than a month ago, but I do have a plan that for a post that would work better if I’d recently reread The Lightning Thief, plus I have seen the terrible horrible movie that was inspired, so it fits the challenge.

4/ Read the first book you touch.

I closed my eyes and ran my hand down my TBR stack, and I landed on My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows! I have been wanting to read it for months, and finally got it from the library, so I will definitely do my best to get to that.

5/ Read a book completely outside of your house.

For this challenge, I am going to read Cinderella is Dead by Kaylynn Bayron, and Not Otherwise Specified by Hannah Moskowitz, if I have the time.

6/ Read a book in a genre that you’ve always wanted to read more of.

I’ve been wanting to read more non-fiction, but it’s often hard for me to find non-fiction that interests me. However, I have a copy of The Woman’s Hour, by Elaine Weiss that I really want to read.

7/ Read a book that takes place on a different continent than where you live.

A Night Divided by Jennifer A. Nielsen takes place in Berlin during the Cold War. I live in the United States, in North America, so this young adult historical fiction novel works perfectly for the challenge!

So, there are the nine books that I am going to try to read in seven days, starting on July 20th! I’m very excited for all of these books, and I might even do a post wrapping this up with mini reviews of each one.

Are you participating in The Reading Rush? Have you read any of the books on my TBR? Chat with me in the comments below!

    1. High-five! It was actually kind of hard for me to figure out the color of the birthstone because apparently opal can be pretty much every color of the rainbow 😂 I’m really excited for all of the books. Thanks, and I really think I will 💕
