Top Ten Tuesday: Reasons why I love historical fiction

Hey there! I hope you’re all doing well this Tuesday! Anyways, this week’s topic is reasons why I love ______, so I chose my favorite genre, historical fiction. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl where there is a topic and you make a list that best fits that topic! This week’s topic is reasons why I love historical fiction!

You get to learn about history

When you’re reading historical fiction you get to learn about different periods in time! I’ve learned so much about homesteading, the holocaust and countless other topics through the books that I’ve read.

You get to learn about what it would be like for someone living during those times

Most (maybe even all) of the historical fiction books that I read are about or told from the perspective of kids or teens, so reading those books gives me an idea of what it would be like for someone my age living during those times!

I just love historical fiction

I guess I thought I’d be able to name a bunch of other reasons for why I love historical fiction, but I guess I just really love the genre.

Do you like historical fiction? What are your favorite genres? Chat with me in the comments below!

  1. I really want to start reading more historical fiction. Especially ones set during the Tudor times (Ive always found the fascinating), the Victorian era & Ancient Greek. I do want to try and read about times that are completely unfamiliar to me too though as it’s so eye opening to learn about times and places that are new to you.
