The Liebster Award

Hello everybody! I’m very excited to do this tag/award because I’ve seen it on so many blogs, and I think it’s amazing that this award has been floating around the internet since 2011! I was nominated by Lori @ Lori’s Bookshelf Reads for this award, so thank you Lori! Anyways, without further ado, here is the Liebster Award!

  • Say thank you to the person who has nominated you for the Award.
  • Answer the 11 questions the person has asked you
  • Nominate 11 people
  • Ask the people who you have nominated 11 questions

What is a book you’ve been meaning to pick up, but haven’t yet?

I have been meaning to pick up Stalking Jack the Ripper and Cinder. They both look amazing and I keep forgetting to get them from the library or something.

What must a book contain to capture your interest?

For a book to capture my interest, it must have a good plot, and also good characters. Yeah. But mostly, it really depends on the writing. If it’s a good story, but the writing is just really not good, I probably won’t read it. Also, the synopsis of the book on the back cover really is important. If it doesn’t tell me what the books about, I’m not going to read it.

it really really depends

What are your other hobbies aside from reading?

Aside from reading, I love to play the piano and trumpet, I write, I blog, (obviously) and I love playing with my two cats and golden retriever puppy Clover. I also do ballet and I love biking, and I also love math. SO… I like a lot of things, which I don’t always have enough time to do, but, I get to it.

What’s your favorite dessert?

My favorite desert is hmmm… a lot of things?

I like cake, but not chocolate. I don’t like chocolate. Especially not dark chocolate.

I love vanilla ice cream, lemon wafers, carrot cake, apple pie… I’m really indecisive. There are so many good deserts out there!!!!

If you can change one thing in any book, what would it be?

Change one thing in any book!? I don’t think I could. Even if I criticize a book, or don’t enjoy a part of it, I wouldn’t want to change it because the author spent so much time working on it, it would be so sad for them.

But, one thing I would definitely change, is a big spoiler for The Gilded Wolves and for Crooked Kingdom, so if you’ve read the book, click to read, if you haven’t, don’t.In the Gilded Wolves, I did not want Tristan to die it was so unnecessary I was sobbing. So I would definitely change that. And in Crooked Kingdom, why was Matthias killed? WHY??? I was reading it on the couch, and I just started whimpering because it was so so unexpected! And devastating.

But if I were to talk about every characters death I could prevent I would never be able to stop because sometimes it just feels like the authors are out to torture us. I mean, they build up these incredible, strong, brave, kind characters, and then they kill them! Anyways, I could talk about this forever and ever and ever, but I’ll listen to Rory and stop now, so moving on…

If you can see your favorite music artist live, who would it be?

I don’t know. Given that I really love classical music, and that many of the great classical composers aren’t alive anymore, it wouldn’t work our so well. But I love Abba. SO yeah. If that was possible. I would want to see them live. But that wouldn’t work. And Mozart died in 1791. So that wouldn’t work either.

What is the one place you want to go before 2020 ends?

Somewhere? Away? I want to travel!!!!!!! I really want to go to Carcassonne, which is a walled city in southern France. There is a small town called Carcassonne, and that’s where people live, but the walled city part has been there for over 500 years. There are some shops and restaurants and stuff, and you can walk around, and it’s really cool. I’ve been once, when I went to Europe this summer with my family, and we might actually go to Spain for a few weeks, and I really really really want to go there again. It was so beautiful, and amazing.

Also if we could go not in the middle of a heat, wave, I would like that. We went on the hottest day ever recorded in France, and it was hot. Really really hot. And we switched hotel rooms at like ten pm because the air conditioning in our room was broken. But other than that, Carcassonne was the most amazing place I have ever been to in my whole 13 years.

What is something that you’re proud of?

I am very proud of the current state that my bookshelf is in. When I recently reorganized it, I actually organized it by genre, which took and long time but was very very satisfying! Before, I’ve always organized it by my own personal preference, which is nice, but way less practical!

I’m also really proud of this blog and how much I’ve been able to do in almost six months.

What is your favorite ever quote from a book and why that quote?

“What’s right and what’s permitted are sometimes different things.”

― Kimberly Brubaker Bradley, The War I Finally Won

This is an amazing and inspiring quote, and so true! The entire book this is from is full of amazing quotes and this is one of my favorites! Is it my favorite ever? No. Did I search up a list of quotes from this book on Goodreads? Yes.

The thing is, there are so many amazing books with so many amazing quotes, I couldn’t possibly write them all!

What is the first book you ever remember buying?

Hmmmmmm……. I really don’t know about this one! I’ve bought so many books, and I don’t know which one was the first one I ever bought. Really. Do you know? Do you remember?

I do remember going to Shakespeare and Company bookstore in Paris when I went there when I was 8. Thats definitely not the first time I bought a book but it was five years ago and I remember it really well, so it was a really memorable bookstore, I guess.

If you could have any super-power for a day what would you choose?

Being able to fly would be really cool and amazing, but in my opinion, the best superpower would be being able to read a single book in a minute, and still understanding everything, because then you would be able to read so many more books because each book would take so much less time!!!!

So, that’s all of my answers! This was a really fun post to write, and I hope to do more tags and awards in the near future! Also, I finally discovered how to use gifs in posts, which is really fun, and I’ll use them more often!

I tag:

Nikita @ Prose and Pancakes | Rukky @ Eternity Books | Jane @ Blogger Books | Katie @ Melting Pages | Kristin @ Kristin Kraves Books | Kira @ Kira Jeanette | Ikram @ Readology | Beck @ Smellfoy Can Read | Alice @ Love For Words | Sara @ Marvelous Bibliophile | Laura @ The Book Corps

Of course, don’t feel any pressure to do the tag, but if you want to, here are my questions:

  1. Right now, where are you writing, and what is your current writing environment? (For example, right now, my cat is on my chest purring very loudly, I’m in my room on a comfy chair, and other than the construction going on across the street from my house, it’s pretty quiet!)
  2. What’s your favorite fruit, and why
  3. What’s your spirit animal?
  4. What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream?
  5. Do you multitask while you read?
  6. Do you eat while you write? What?
  7. Where do you usually write blog posts?
  8. Do any of your real life friends also blog? Do you read their blogs?
  9. When did you start blogging, and why did you start your blog?
  10. What post that you’ve written are you most proud of?
  11. What is, in your opinion, the best thing about blogging?

I’m excited to do see your answers if you choose to do the tag! What do you think about this? Chat with me in the comments below!

Happy reading,
